It was an extremely late night, so I can’t give my full attention to any of *waves at all this* today. :) I have to announce the winner of the giveaway (which I’ll do on the original post AND via my newsletter) and a quick letter to send out to all y’all who are doing the blog along with me. Other than that, whoa collapsy.
The trip out has been very traumatic for the little guy (and by little, I mean, he’s in his twenties, but still!). He had to leave his girl behind for a few weeks so they could raise some funds and do it up right when she gets here. He’s traveling with people he doesn’t know very well, who changed their minds about the whens and wheres of things a few times too many for his Taurus self. There were impromptu side trips, speeding tickets and moments he felt like maybe he was going to die in a car accident, and since the trip lasted days longer than it was supposed to, he ran out of money. (Don’t worry – the ex helped me help him). I got a text at 1:30 in the morning informing me that they were going to stop in Sault St. Marie for the night. SO CLOSE YET SO FAR!
I would have lost my shit (quietly and politely, but still) if I’d been him, and I’ve been getting regular updates, so I’ve been mighty stressed myself…
…but he will be home (sometime) today, and he will be okay, (so mote it be) so as soon as he gets here, we’re going to put all of *waves at all that* behind us, and we’re going to take a day or two to get caught up. I’m going to feed him mama food, and give him a mama shoulder to cry on. We’re not even going to talk about what comes next until he’s had a few days to recover.
I’ll be back tomorrow with all the usual things, including the first lesson in Book Of Days 2017 – Session Three. It’s a gorgeous lesson in creating deeeeeeply textured backgrounds & using masking to create focal images. It’s super gorgeous, and it kicks off thirteen more weeks of encouragement, communing, mixed media art, and meeting ourselves on the page. It’s on sale right now ($99 down from $189) for the *entire year* of content, so if you were thinking about it, now’s the time. You can circle back to the lessons at the end of the year because they are evergreen & just as relevant next year as they were this year, or you can come on into BOD2018 (with alumni pricing!) and do the 2017 lessons as you feel like it throughout next year.
Today’s Nudge: What really stresses you out, and how to do take care of yourself when you’re in the midst of *waves at all that*.
There’s a bunch of us blogging along in September. Find out more here, or pop your email address in the box below, and I’ll send you a nudge to blog every day along with a link to my daily writings.
